Channel 5 Selects FreeWheel to Power Digital Television Advertising Across All Properties, Platforms
LONDON, April 22, 2014 – FreeWheel, the leading provider of video ad management and monetization solutions for the television industry, announced today that it has been selected by Channel 5 to power advertising across its owned and operated digital properties and syndication partner sites.

Leveraging FreeWheel’s content monetization and revenue operations capabilities, Channel 5 is able to centrally administer insertion orders, manage ad sales rights, and ad decisioning and insertion. The unified platform also allows Channel 5 to forecast inventory, optimize delivery, analyze performance, and facilitate payments across content, partners, and devices.
Currently live on over 10 platforms with implementation on other devices following in coming weeks, the integration allows for Channel 5 shows, including Neighbours, Big Brother, and The Mentalist, to be shown with FreeWheel-powered ads.
Channel 5 was launched as Britain’s fifth and final terrestrial broadcaster in 1997 and reaches more than 42 million UK viewers. The addition of Channel 5 to FreeWheel’s client roster, which includes Channel 4 and BSkyB, significantly increases FreeWheel’s footprint in the UK marketplace.
