NEW YORK, October 28, 2015 — FreeWheel today announced the promotion of James Rooke to Chief Revenue Officer. In this new role Rooke will lead FreeWheel’s global revenue teams, overseeing Enterprise Solutions, the FourFronts Premium Marketplace and Advisory Services.
The consolidation of three lines of business under a single leader will better position FreeWheel to meet the needs of its global customers as the premium video economy continues to grow, and enable them to successfully leverage the opportunity.
“James has been indispensable in growing both FreeWheel’s Advisory Services business and the FourFronts Premium Marketplace,” said Doug Knopper, Co-Founder & Co-CEO, FreeWheel. “His extensive knowledge of the premium video landscape coupled with his leadership and management experience are a natural fit to lead FreeWheel’s efforts to deliver solutions that meet the needs of the global premium video economy.”
Rooke joined FreeWheel in 2012 tasked with establishing a new Advisory Services practice that provides clients with operational and strategic guidance to help scale their digital video businesses. He since then has been instrumental in the development of the FourFronts Premium Marketplace, which helps publishers manage supply and demand imbalances across desktop, mobile, tablet, OTT devices and set-top-box Video on Demand.
Formerly with Time Warner Cable, where he was part of the media and advertising business, Rooke served as VP, Strategy & Execution as well as General Manager of its digital marketing services business. Rooke has an extensive media consulting background with Ernst & Young in the United Kingdom, and Capgemini in the U.S.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity to collaborate even more closely with our global client base to ensure FreeWheel’s suite of monetization solutions enables our premium video clients to thrive in today’s rapidly changing video marketplace,” adds Rooke.
FreeWheel’s superior end-to-end technology, premium marketplace, and best in market advisory services power the advertising businesses of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world, including ABC, AOL, DIRECTV, ESPN and NBC Universal in the U.S., and Sky and Channel 4 in Europe. From our unique position at the center of the premium video economy, we enable our clients to unify audiences across desktop, mobile, OTT, and traditional STB devices, and profitably monetize their content.
