An interesting thing happens when the right people gather at the right place and at the right time.
On Wednesday, July 15th we were proud to host our annual Client Summit here in New York City. It was not your typical client event, as FreeWheel regards our customer base as partners, peers and collaborators and the energy in the room was reflective of that, more than ever before.
Together we face an important time, which consists of both rapid change and (significant) opportunity in the video marketplace and we were excited to have the venue to align even further against our collective agenda.
The premium video economy is here. The result of the massive shifts in consumer viewing habits, transformative changes in technology, and the affirming importance of quality, premium content. And FreeWheel is privileged to sit at the center of it all along with our customers and our partners.
Our 2015 Client Summit program was designed to illustrate not only how FreeWheel can help our customers can gather strength during this period of rapid transformation, but also to explore how we can align further to lead and protect the value of premium video.
One of the many highlights of the day included an opening keynote by strategic advisor Robert Tercek, who shared his take on why we are still at the beginning of a huge tidal wave of change. Robert’s message to our audience was focused on the huge but healthy changes in front of us and his take on how they represent a truly unique opportunity to rethink everything– including time, channels, data, scale and outside our silos.
The audience was also able to benefit from an early look at recent trends and insights that will be featured in our upcoming Q2 Video Monetization Report, led by Brian Dutt, Director, Advisory Services. The dataset for the report is one of the largest available on the usage and monetization of premium, rights managed video content, and Brian broke it down with actionable insights. THE FREEWHEEL PERSPECTIVE
FreeWheel has a unique vantage point from our position at the center of the premium video economy. A FreeWheel event wouldn’t be complete without our Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Jon Heller, sharing his perspective on the dynamics of our changing marketplace and how to best leverage unification, federated data and automation, to empower, not arbitrage.
New for this year’s Client Summit: facilitated roundtables during our two breakout sessions. We added these sessions to the program to create a highly engaged and interactive experience for customers and the chance to share and discuss the insights they are gathering in their part of the industry. Early feedback from the event indicates our customers found this unique opportunity to connect at a deeper level with their peers was an incredibly valuable experience.
TOWN HALL: OPPORTUNITIES FOR PREMIUM VIDEO
Another first for this event was a special interactive Town Hall featuring a panel of executives from the world’s largest media entertainment companies on the opportunities for premium video. Led by James Rooke, FreeWheel’s GM, Marketplaces, our panel took on the serious questions facing the industry and shared how to best confront them, engaging the audience as well throughout the session by collecting their opinions via polling and a lively Q&A.
The Client Summit once again, has been a great learning experience and our team took away a number of fresh perspectives that will enable Freewheel to further shape our offerings to ensure our customers thrive in today’s premium video economy.
